As a student of English and history, I have always believed in the value of stories. I love reading them, writing them, and hearing them told around a campfire on a gusty summer evening. After three years of reading textbooks and writing essays at the University of Waterloo, I was ready to get out in the world, hear some real stories from people who had experienced history first-hand, and put my writing skills to work on something that mattered to me.
The opportunity to do so arose through the University of Waterloo's Enterprise Co-op Program, which allows co-op students the chance to start their own company for co-op credit. My brand-new business Recollections Publications was born, dedicated to capturing memories in writing. This summer, I am pleased to pay homage to my hometown and the rich history of its inhabitants with the Stratford Story Project. Interested? Drop me a line! |
